Village hit by tidal flooding this week
Are sea defences needed in Laxey? That's a question many in the village have been mulling over for some weeks after government outlined plans for two protective walls.
Following storms this week tidal flooding again struck the village, though not nearly as bad as Laxey has seen in recent years.
Some residents gathered to view the water lapping at the feet of sea front houses, and watch as it swept across Tent Road into the harbour.
The Department of Infrastructure's plans have already been revised after villagers objected to the height of the proposed promenade wall.
