Army Reserve recruitment in Douglas today

The Isle of Man has been praised for the commitment its residents have shown to the British Army over the years.

It comes from Colonel Philip Harrison, who is the deputy commander of 42nd Infantry Brigade and Headquarters North West.

He's one of a group of representatives from the British Army who are on the Island today (Friday, May 15th) as it looks to establish an Army Reserve unit in the Isle of Man for the first time in almost 50 years.

The recruitment drive is taking place on Harris Promenade, opposite the Villa Marina, from 11am.

Colonel Harrison says considering the size of the Island's population, there are a lot of people here who are interested in serving:
