Around 500 caught up in travel disruption

Ferry cancellations leave visitors stranded

Around 500 visitors have been left stranded after poor weather affected their travel plans.

High winds yesterday meant the Ben-my-Chree sailings between Douglas and Heysham were cancelled.

Those caught up in the disruption have been offered 'priority standby' status by the Steam Packet, and placed on any sailings with available space from this morning onwards.

Other passengers affected by the cancellation will be able to book onto an additional sailing to Heysham on Thursday evening at 11.

Anyone stuck is asked to visit the Isle of Man Welcome Centre, or call the Tourism Team on 01624 68 68 01.

The Reservations Team can be contacted on 01624 661 661.

Passengers are being offered advice or, in the case of this visitor, direct help:
