Shannen Samuel speaks to Manx Radio about plans for Isle of Man-inspired short film

An art student from the Isle of Man who's been praised for flying the Manx flag in the fashion industry now has her sights set on creating a short film inspired by the Island.

Shannen Samuel, who studied at UCM, is currently working on costume design for the film industry, and is creative director of 'bleaq', a platform for emerging designers in sustainable fashion from around the world.

Shannen's TT-inspired collection made using recycled motorbike leathers and motorsport materials was a feature at the official New York Fashion Week in 2022.

She's currently designing costumes for SHEE - Manx Gaelic for fairy - a dark, coming of age short film inspired by Manx folklore:
