Covid contingency planning escalated
School assemblies – and activities between schools – will be suspended at the start of the new term due to high levels of Covid-19.
Teachers and students are returning to classrooms tomorrow (4 January).
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture says 'proportionate mitigations' will be in place to reduce the risk of Coronavirus.
Staff, visitors and secondary school, and UCM, students are expected to wear face coverings and all students will be asked to keep the 'hands, face, space' guidance in mind.
Contingency planning is also now being escalated to include the suspension of activities between schools including swimming and interschool sports.
Internal gatherings including whole school assemblies are also off.
