Bee Gees statue unveiled down under

A new statue of the Bee Gees saw a small town outside Brisbane in Australia mobbed by fans today.

Thousands turned out to see surviving band member Barry Gibb unveil the sculpture, which sits in a walkway covered in photos of the group.

The 50-metre lane was created to mark the band’s 50th anniversary in the town the family arrived in after they left the Isle of Man in the 1950s.

Just after the ceremony, Mayor of Moreton Allan Sutherland – who organised the event - told Manx Radio more about the statue:
