Seed spud hand-out at Cronk y Voddy
Hot on the heels of the launch of TT 2019, another mass sporting event with a noble heritage is to be launched this evening (Tues 26).
The Cronk y Voddy Ploughing Society Big Spud competition takes root at the clubhouse, with the distribution of the official seed potatoes.
This year's variety is the old favourite 'King Edward'.
Competitors have just six months to grow the heaviest crop possible in a tub from single tuber, before the big weigh-in at September's Flower and Produce Show.
This evening's 'seed spud hand-out' at the Cronk y Voddy clubroom will be followed by a slide show.
The competition - organised by the Cronk y Voddy ploughing society - is open to all, and proceeds go to this year's nominated charity, Crossroads Caring for Carers.
