Rider to go on final lap of TT course
The funeral of Laxey roadracer Billy Redmayne will take place later today.
The 25-year-old soldier from Laxey died at Scarborough’s Oliver’s Mount circuit during racing last month.
Wellwishers will gather at the TT Grandstand at midday to do a lap of the course - police say there’ll be slow moving traffic around the circuit with a large number of cars and motorbikes expected.
Officers will be at points on the course to help minimise disruption.
Billy will receive a military funeral at Douglas Crematorium, followed by a gathering in the Villa Marina.
Friends and family have asked for donations to the Billy Redmayne memorial fund in lieu of flowers.
