Legislative Council considering clauses
The Lord Bishop has invited a Christian professor to discuss amendments to the Abortion Reform Bill.
Members of the Legislative Council are currently debating the clauses of the legislation after its successful passage through the House of Keys.
Professor John Wyatt lectures in Neonatal Paediatrics at University College London, and has an evangelical religious background.
He has been brought to the Island by the Bishop to address members on the changes, which would see abortion legalised up to 14 weeks into pregnancy.
Professor Wyatt believes many want the rights of unborn children to be protected.
Two more witnesses have been called by the Bishop this afternoon (Tues).
