The Island's Lord Bishop has issued a call to prayer to the Manx community, in the wake of what he describes as the 'deepening tragedy' in Iraq and Syria.
Bishop Robert Paterson today released a statement asking those who pray to gather together and spend an hour in prayer for those caught-up in current conflicts in the middle east.
His call follows the brutal murder of a second American journalist by Islamic State militants, who have threatened to make a British hostage their next victim.
Bishop Robert says he will be in the Island's cathedral in Peel between 7 and 8pm on Friday - and has invited fellow Christians, followers of other faiths and those with none, to join him in silent reflection for all victims of brutality and injustice.
