Debate on Isle of Man Constitution Bill adjourned until the new year
A debate on an amendment to the Isle of Man Constitution Bill 2023, which would strip the Bishop of a vote in Tynwald, has been pushed back until the new year.
Members were today (2 December) set to discuss a Legislative Council amendment to the Bill; and then a Keys amendment to that amendment.

However, Onchan MHK Rob Callister moved his own amendment, adjourning the vote until 27 January.
Mr Callister's amendment was seconded by his fellow Onchan MHK Julie Edge and supported by 11 other MHKs.
Mover of the Bill Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper urged members to concur with the Legislative Council's amendment so that the House could 'move on from the whole conversation'.
Following today's sitting, Mr Callister says: "The House needs more time to consider the amendment returned from the Legislative Council, and more importantly, to give serious consideration to the amendment proposed by Chris Thomas MHK.
"By January, this could be the last Lord Bishop of the Isle of Man to have a vote in Tynwald - bringing an end to over 1,000 years of Manx history.
