Blue plaque unveiled in honour of Knox

On the 150th anniversary of his birth, a blue plaque honouring Archibald Knox has been unveiled in Douglas.

The Manx born artist gained international fame through his work for Liberty of London, and today his paintings sell for thousands of pounds.

The plaque is situated at 70 Athol Street, where Knox lived and worked before his death in 1933.

Mayor of Douglas, Carol Malarkey, says it's only the second blue plaque commissioned by the council:

She spoke at the ceremony along with Anthony Bernbaum, member of the Archibald Knox Society.
