The locations of 300 Boots stores earmarked for closure are not being released at this stage.
Asked about the future of the Isle of Man store in Strand Street, Douglas a Boots spokesperson told Manx Radio the company will share further information on the closures over the coming months.
The planned closures will reduce the company's portfolio from around 2,200 to 1,900.
Boots say that following the planned closures, in most cases there will be an alternative store less than three miles away.
Boots' US owners, Walgreens Boots Alliance, say there are no plans for redundancies among the chain's 52,000 staff.
