Borders relax to Level 2.5 today

'Test to release' pathway comes into force

Isolation requirements for people travelling to the Isle of Man change today (Monday, 24 May).

The borders have moved from Level 3 to Level 2.5.

Travel history declarations have been reduced and a 'test to release' process has been implemented.

It means anyone who has been in the UK, Guernsey and Jersey for at least 10 days prior to travel is free to leave self-isolation within 48 hours subject to a negative test.

People who have been outside the British Isles within 10 days of coming to the Island will have to follow a 7 day pathway with tests within 48 hours of arrival and on day 6. They will also be excluded from visiting health and care settings unless in an emergency.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle has warned that situations can change 'rapidly' and anyone travelling needs to 'prepare for these eventualities'.

It's hoped that the Isle of Man will achieve unrestricted travel, within the British Isles, by 28 June.
