Ballasalla hosting secret garden and hidden treasure trail
If you're green-fingered in the garden or need inspiration, there's a chance to see a whole range of ideas in one place today (5 July).
Ballasalla in the south is hosting a secret garden and hidden treasure trail, with 11 contrasting gardens open to the public.
From gardens overflowing with flowers, fruit and vegetables to a renovated overgrown patch and maintenance-free ideas - there's something for everyone.
Visitors can also take in an antiques fair in the village hall and a flower festival in Ballasalla church from noon.
The event is organised by the Friends of St John Ambulance and admission to the gardens is by brochure, which costs £5.
The Friends' Pamela Crowe says people love to see the work of others and gain ideas - but for one past visitor it proved an expensive outing.
The Ballasalla gardens are open between 10am and 5pm.
