Braddan Bridge: Changes to diversion routes ahead of roundabout resurfacing

Work on Centenary Oak getting underway at 9:30am

There will be a change to the diversions around Braddan Bridge after rush-hour this morning.

The Department of Infrastructure says the road between Braddan Church and the Centenary Oak has been resurfaced and the team will start laying the new surface around the roundabout today.

It means after 9:30am there will be no access onto Peel Road from Braddan Road, and traffic for Central Douglas from the Strang and Noble's Hospital will be diverted via Ballafletcher Road and vice versa.

Meanwhile, traffic heading via the one-way system past Braddan Church will still be able to travel up Braddan Road, and into Douglas via Peel Road and Quarterbridge.

The department says this new arrangement will be in place until resurfacing on the roundabout is complete, and, based on the current weather forecast, in place on a 24 hour basis for several days this week.
