Braddan hosts area plan meeting

Residents to view plans blueprint for east

The stage is set in Braddan to discuss plans which could fundamentally change the way the parish looks in future.

A public meeting is taking place where residents can pick the brains of planning officers over the Eastern Area Plan, which displays sites that may be used for  future housing development.

It starts at 7pm in the auditorium at Keyll Darree in the grounds of Noble's Hospital, with Middle MHK's Howard Quayle and Bill Shimmins both expected to attend.

The government's head of planning policy Diane Brown will tell the audience the current blueprint is at a very early stage, before taking questions from the floor.

A similar meeting in Marown this week sparked fierce debate, with residents concerned plans could threaten the rural nature of the community.

Braddan Commissioners are imploring the public to attend, saying it's a valuable chance to influence planning at an early stage.
