A row of Victorian workers' cottages in a village near Douglas, described as very important by an architectural expert, are up for sale.
Island historian Peter Kelly says the double row of small homes in Cronkbourne dating from the first half of the nineteenth century, is part of the Island's industrial heritage and worth preserving.
In planning terms, the cottages have legal protection from inappropriate development.
But Braddan Commissioners, who are looking for someone to take on the properties, say they have become too much of a burden on ratepayers.
Existing tenants will be allowed to stay in their homes under current terms for five years.
