A British Army veteran living and fighting on the frontline in Ukraine is set to give a talk on the Isle of Man next week.

Shaun Pinner will appear at Ballakermeen High School next Friday evening (27 February) where he will share his first-hand experiences of fighting alongside Ukrainian forces and surviving captivity as a Russian prisoner of war.

"I'll be talking about what's really happening. You are hearing a lot of words like peace when essentially the war just carries on so not(hing) really changed on the ground here." - Shaun Pinner

Shaun was also good friends with Isle of Man-born soldier Chris "Swampy" Garett, who died in May last year following an incident in Izyum, eastern Ukraine.
