Charity returns to roots for new year clean
Beach Buddies is returning to its roots for the first clean-up session of the new decade.
The charity is hoping for a record-breaking crowd at Ballaugh beach this morning - the same beach where the first cleaning session took place in 2007.
Founder Bill Dale says he has high hopes for the movement on and off Island in the next 12 months but is asking people attending this morning's session to park with care to ensure roads aren't blocked.
This morning's session gets underway at 10.30am and runs through until 12pm, with all equipment provided by Beach Buddies.
New volunteers including children and even well-behaved dogs are always welcome.
