Public transport's busiest festival for years

The Department of Infrastructure says TT visitors spent £427,000 on buses and trains this year.

Isle of Man Transport has revealed it carried well over 217,000 people during the festival fortnight – its busiest period for several years.

And the new Go smart card tickets also proved popular, with 5,000 sold over the two weeks as well as many advance sales online.

Kate Beecroft MHK, the political member with responsibility for public transport, said the figures were extremely pleasing:
