Ten recorded between December and January
Police say there were around two burglaries a week on the Island in the run-up to Christmas and New Year.
Under the government’s Access to Information code, Manx Radio asked how many burglaries had happened between Tuesday, December 1 and Sunday, January 3.
Officers say they dealt with ten over that period and add there have been 42 reported break-ins on the Island since April.
Just one of the ten was notified to the media through a press release, which police say is because most victims don’t want the thefts to be publicised.
And they add the true figure may be slightly higher as there could be a delay in reporting some crimes.
