It's a 10-day planned action by Unite the Union
It's been confirmed that from tomorrow bus drivers on the Island will go on a 10-day strike.
The Department of Infrastructure confirmed the action despite ongoing negotiations.
In a statement, it says talks between Bus Vannin and Unite the Union, facilitated by the Manx Industrial Relations Service continued into the evening yesterday, however a fifth offer, aimed at resolving the dispute, was rejected by the union.
A spokesperson for Bus Vannin says: ‘We are disappointed to report that despite ongoing negotiations Unite the Union’s strike action on Saturday now seems inevitable.
It's apologising to the passengers for the uncertainty and inconvenience this situation is causing, adding efforts are now focussed on finalising contingency plans to support passengers.
More information will follow later in the day.
