Application comes after service was scrapped for being no longer financially viable
Bus Vannin has formally applied to remove the requirement for hourly seasonal services to The Sound from its licence.
The Road Transport Licensing Committee has received an application from the Island's bus operator to not operate the 28 route due to the failure to secure funding for the "non-core" service.
Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall recently confirmed the route, which also served Cregneash, had been scrapped as it was no longer financially viable.
The RTLC expects to consider the request to vary the regular service licence and any objections at one of its meetings in September or October.
