Business as normal at Blackpool airport

Blackpool Airport says it’s business as usual after its current owner decided to sell the facility.

Balfour Beatty, which bought the operation six years ago, says it’s ending its involvement in regional airports.

Blackpool Airport said it’s to be sold as a going concern and all flights will continue as normal.

In July, the Department of Infrastructure said Citywing’s Blackpool route had seen an 18 per cent drop in passengers compared to last year.
