Call for all-Island swimming pool charge

Commissioner sceptical about government consultations

A Castletown commissioner believes government has jumped the gun when it comes to regulations about swimming pool charges.

Jerry Ludford-Brooks wants to know why alterations were approved before the results of a review were known.

At tonight's (1 August) board meeting he will seek support from his colleagues to write a letter to the Chief Minister.

Mr Ludford-Brooks wants Alfred Cannan to consider introducing an all-Island swimming pool charge.

Meanwhile Mr Ludford-Brooks believes many consultations are worded so government gets the answers it wants, rather than a true reflection of what the public actually thinks.
