Call for museum security review

MHK wants to see security tightened

An MHK is calling for a review of security at the Island's historical sites, in light of recent incidents in the UK.

Earlier this month, vandals in Liverpool stole around £150,000 worth of artwork produced in the Isle of Man by the renowned sculptor David Gilbert.

Meanwhile, a 45-year-old man is on bail after trying to steal the Magna Carta from Salisbury Cathedral on Thursday.

In the House of Keys this week, Arbory, Castletown and Malew member Jason Moorhouse will quiz the Enterprise Minister on how Manx National Heritage attractions are policed.

He believes tightening security need not be expensive, and would be a reassurance to visitors:
