Calls for farmers to be aware of potential habitats of rare species

Rediscovery of previously thought extinct flower prompted the appeal

The Manx Wildlife Trust is calling on farmers across the Island to be more aware of rare wildflowers potentially on their land.

It follows a rediscovery of a Skullcap flower which hadn't previously been seen on the Isle of Man for 142-years.

It was thought to be extinct.

Trust officer David Bellamy is urging people to contact the organisation to inspect marshy land before doing work on it:
