Regeneration is key for Castletown, which has been on a 'slow downward spiral' for quite a while.
That's according to the latest candidate to come forward in the constituency for next month's general election.
Mahendra Patel has spent over 25 years working in the town, where he and his wife run the Castle Pharmacy.
He also served as a commissioner for over a decade.
On Mandate today (Tuesday), Mr Patel said there were bureaucratic obstacles to overcome if the town was to be improved:
The other candidates standing in Castletown are Jason Moorhouse and David Pownall, and local commissioners Colin Leather, Carol Quine and Richard Ronan.
Nomination day is today (August 30), and polling day is Thursday, September 29.
