Matter raised in the House of Keys
The Treasury minister says he's not aware of any abuses of the tender process for government construction work.
Alf Cannan made the comments in the House of Keys on Tuesday, in response to a question from Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper.
He wanted to know whether all tenders for such work go out to all those registered on the Manx Accredited Construction Contractors Scheme.
Mr Cannan says where there are occasional works which may be necessary outside of the capital tendering process or framework contracts which are already in place, a waiver may be used:
