Mobile app to replace broken barrier system
The Department of Infrastructure says a cashless car parking app is soon to be in operation at the airport.
Work has been underway to reinstate parking charges at Ronaldsway after barriers, designed for indoor not outdoor use, were mistakenly installed.
Last year government collected just £1000 from the site due to the error.
DOI Minister Tim Crookall says one hour's free disc parking will be reintroduced and 'officers from the Public Estates and Housing Division and the Airport are progressing the installation of the system, updated signage, and on site works'.
It's expected the new system will be installed and live within four-six weeks.
