Langness Golf Course Limited and Malew Commissioners both now contacting advocates
The owner of Castletown Golf Links says he has also contacted advocates for legal advice on how to deal with the run-down hotel on its grounds.
It comes after Malew Commissioners confirmed it will be seeking legal advice over the site.
Philip Vermeulen’s company – Langness Golf Course Limited – says it’s tried, and failed, in the past to work with Fort Island Developments Limited which is part of the Dandara Group.
The developer has unsuccessfully appealed against a planning decision which blocked it from building flats and a small hotel on the site.
Mr Vermeulen says he's now asked for an opinion on how the provisions contained within the Building Control Act 1991, in relation to ruinous buildings, should be implemented; including service of a demolition order by the local authority.
