Caution over Equality proposals

MHK concerned about possible legal action

New politicians should avoid being overzealous in developing legislation, a backbench MHK has warned.

Chris Robertshaw was speaking about a proposed clause to the Island's first Equality Bill, which would prevent employers from asking job applicants questions about their state of health.

The East Douglas member says he understands his colleagues' desire to make effective changes - but expressed caution about the approach.
