Opening hours and service provision are to be adjusted
The Isle of Man Post Office insists it is not closing any post offices, although admits it's planning to make some adjustments to how it operates.
It's after speculation circled online about a number of potential closures.
IOMPO says changing customer behaviour, the continued shift towards digital services, and the withdrawal of several government services traditionally delivered through sub post offices are affecting the commercial viability for some of its retail partners.
It says it remains each retailer's choice, based on their own business circumstance, whether they wish to continue providing the required services.
In response to reduced demand and footfall, it's working closely with all its retail partners to adjust opening hours and service provision in a sustainable way, and will announce further details of this 'early next week'.
IOMPO says it's managing the transition responsibly and transparently to minimise disruption.
