RBST believes native livestock play an important role
A charity that works to protect native livestock such as Manx Loaghtans is calling for more support for farmers who work with at risk breeds.
The Rare Breeds Survival Trust recently added loaghtans to its priority watchlist due to falling numbers.
The group wants the UK government to establish a ministerial-led round table group to look at ways to strengthen numbers.
Chief Executive Christopher Price told the BBC's Farming Today that breeds like the Manx Loaghtan play an important role:
Fluoride varnish programme rolled out in Island schools in bid to reduce levels of tooth decay in children
Tynwald 'in a good place' for gender balance compared to other jurisdictions
Mentoring programme available for female business owners on the IOM
