Campaign highlights life-threatening disease

A campaign alerting the public to the life-threatening condition of sepsis reaches a colourful conclusion at Noble's and Ramsey Cottage Hospitals today (Wednesday).

The Mannin Sepsis Charity has been giving out leaflets in both venues this week, as part of an international effort to raise awareness of the condition among the public and the medical profession.

Throughout the day, simple paper chains will be created by staff in each department and later joined together to spell out a slogan relating to sepsis.

The stunt will be photographed and shared through social media.

The charity's founder Dee Struthers, who lost her daughter Anne to sepsis in 2013, says the aim is to drive home a high impact message:
