Wheelchair loan service to close by end of year
"Our money must be spent prudently for those most in need."
That's the belief of the director for Red Cross Independent Living and Crisis Response services on the Island, following the closure of their Braddan office.
The charity announced the decision at the end of last week after a significant drop in footfall to the building, following the loss of the patient transport contract last year.
It means the charity’s Mobility Aids (wheelchair loan) service will also close by the end of the year.
Fiona MacLeod, the director for Red Cross Independent Living and Crisis Response services on the Island, says whilst they are disappointed at the loss of the Braddan office, the charity will still have an active presence on the Island.
