CM 'pandering' to business - union

Unite rep says union is being ignored

Union bosses are accusing the chief minister of cosying-up to the business sector at the expense of Manx workers.

Regional officer for Unite Eric Holmes says his requests to meet Howard Quayle have been ignored - while he claims the Chamber of Commerce has already been included in talks with the new administration.

With the issue of work permits currently in the spotlight, Mr Holmes says he's concerned business interests are taking precedence and the voice of workers neglected.

This week the chief minister pledged to ease work permit restrictions after a strong lobby from the Chamber.
