Chief Minister say there is no stalling on pensions

Chief Minister Allan Bell says the government is not trying to stifle debate about the future of pensions on the Island.

He was responding to accusations from backbenchers during last week’s Tynwald sitting, when three motions about pensions, both state and public sector, were put forward.

In each case and amendment was moved putting back the debates until a working group looking at the issue reports back in December.

And Mr Bell dismissed suggestions ministers were ducking the issue.
