Cannan wants to understand 'current issues' at school
The chief minister will undertake a site visit to Castle Rushen High School next week as plans progress for a new version of the secondary school.
It follows criticism from southern MHKs after it was revealed the new education facility won't be completed by the target date of March 2027.
Almost £1 million has been allocated for pre-contract and design work to take place this year.
The condition of the current school has also been criticised – Alfred Cannan says he wants to judge it for himself:
Meanwhile, the education minister says she's aiming to check out the structural state of all Manx schools.
Julie Edge says she wants to review conditions at all of the educational establishments on the Island.
She'll accompany the chief minister on his visit to Castle Rushen High School next week.
Ms Edge says she needs a clear picture of the work which needs doing:
Storm Dave to bring severe gales
Manx Care 'attempting to establish contact' with dental provider as patients face uncertainty
'Significant dredging works' in Douglas Harbour
'Operational reasons' and tidal restrictions delay Heysham sailing schedule
