Howard Quayle unhappy at aspects of question
The Chief Secretary has been the formal channel of communication between the Isle of Man and UK governments for decades.
Chief Minister Howard Quayle was responding to a question in Tynwald this morning from South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft.
She was concerned about the powers of the government's chief secretary which she believed needed to be looked at more closely - and didn't believe he should be acting in such a capacity.
However, Mr Quayle said it had been a key part of the Chief Secretary's role since its inception in 1988.
