Ministers of DEFA, DOI and Manx Utilities Chair present new strategy
The Manx government's response to climate change will be be put to Tynwald later this month.
Both the environment and infrastructure ministers and the chairman of Manx Utilities, presented the 'New Strategy for Climate Change Mitigation 2020-2030' to members ahead of the March 2019 Tynwald sitting.
The document is set for Tynwald on Tuesday 19 March.
It alludes to the previously agreed target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 80%.
DOI Minister Ray Harmer, presented a policy document outlining a proposal to move towards Low Emission Travel.
Meanwhile Manx Utilities will look accomodate that goal by encouraging greener tariffs.
Chairman Dr Alex Allinson, says it needs to change its business model to respond to a changing world and minimise carbon emissions.
Government will be asking for public input into the matter later this month.
