Inventor called 'Kettle Man' by Duke of Edinburgh
Manx-based inventor Dr John Taylor was referred to as "the kettle man" whenever he met Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
It was first coined when Dr Taylor was CEO of Strix Limited and he attended Buckingham Palace to collect the first of four Queen's Award for Enterprise in 1995.
Dr Taylor managed to play a prank on Prince Phillip in 2011 when he came to Cambridge to view the Corpus Chronophage clock.
Dr Taylor told the Duke of Edinburgh the clock was interactive and would respond if he waved at it:
Warning over flare disposal after amenity site fire
Owner of a block of flats fined for failing to meet fire safety regulations
Review of taxi fares extended to assess impact of Middle East conflict
Liverpool ferry terminal closed again this weekend
