In a statement, some 400 individuals are now said to be in contact with the Cabinet Office seeking to come home - since the closure of the Island's borders on 27 March.
Initially, just 30 will be picked at random for the first ferry crossing on a date yet to be announced.
Returning residents who are feeling unwell have been told not to apply as they will be denied a ticket for the boat.
Financial assistance will not be provided by government, as both accommodation and travel in the UK and to the Island remains the sole responsibility of the traveler.
Once home, residents must carry out two weeks of self isolation at the Mount Murray complex, which will be manned by 24 hour security.
