Committee sitting postponed

Further evidence to be heard on Wednesday

This morning's (Mon 30th) session of the Tynwald committee assessing the future of public service broadcasting has been postponed.

It was due to hear evidence from Treasury Minister, Alfred Cannan and Financial Controller, Mr Caldric Randall.

A notice on the Tynwald website simply states the sitting - due to have started at 10.30am - has been postponed, "due to unforeseen circumstances".

Last week the committee heard evidence from Chief Minister Howard Quayle, along with Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas.

Ron Berry of 3FM,Juan Turner of Energy FM, Dr Richard Arning of Isle of Media and Director of Crown and External Relations Della Fletcher, also addressed the committee. 

A further sitting on Wednesday of this week is due to go ahead as planned when the committee is due to hear from Mr Bill Mummery, Chairman of Manx Radio Limited and Managing Director Mr Anthony Pugh.

They will be followed by Home Affairs Minister Bill Malarkey MHK and Acting Director of the Communications Commission, Ms Sue Strang.
