A spectator who walked onto a football pitch possessing an offensive weapon, after shouting abuse from the touchline, has been sentenced to 200 hours community service.
Fifty-six-year-old John Holland of Rhennie Road, Greeba, has also been banned from all Island football grounds – with the exception of St John’s FC's Mullen-e-Cloie ground – for the next 12 months.
Holland appeared before Deemster Montgomerie at a court of general gaol this afternoon, after admitting the offences at an earlier court.
The incidents occurred at a local football match in March.
