50p of each coffee sold will go towards Ed Space
A cafe in Douglas will be opening its doors for two hours every week to help people tackle loneliness and isolation.
Connection Cafe will launch at Gourmet Shakes N Snacks on Windsor Road from today (7 January) and will allow people to either enjoy a cup of coffee in silence or in a group.

For every cup sold, 50p will be donated to Ed Space, a charity that encourages open and honest speaking about one's feelings.
Tim Brogan, who has had his business for 20 years, says he has noticed the change over the years:
He has also designed two plaques which will be placed on the tables:
- Red: means you’ve popped in for some quiet time — no pressure, no expectations.
- Green: means you’re open to someone joining you for a conversation.
Connection Cafe starts from 6pm this evening.
