Consultation to protect Manx charities from terrorist financing

It's open until 2 March

The Isle of Man Government and Financial Services Authority have launched a consultation aimed at strengthening safeguards for Manx charities working overseas.

The updated measures aim to protect volunteers and organisations from potential misuse by terrorist groups, while supporting legitimate charitable activity.

A revised Specified Non-Profit Organisation Code will look to simplify requirements and provide free training, guidance, and support to affected charities.

Drop-in sessions for charities and volunteers will be held during the consultation period, with feedback open until Monday 2 March 2026.

The Government says the changes will help keep the Island’s generous Non-Profit Organisation sector safe while allowing it to continue making a positive impact at home and abroad.

You can find the consultation here.
