Contingency bus timetable begins today

It's to cope with staff shortages

A contingency bus timetable has come into force today.

It's in response to staff shortages, which have forced cancellations on many routes around the Island in recent weeks.

The revised timetable will operate Monday to Saturday, while Sunday services will be unchanged.

Bus Vannin says high levels of sickness, including Covid 19, and ongoing recruitment challenges have forced them into reducing the frequency of some services in order to preserve a reliable network.

The revised schedules are expected to remain in force until the schools break up for the summer holidays.

This will give Bus Vannin time to finalise additional recruitment and training - and hopefully see a return to work of some staff.

You can find out more here or by calling 662525.

Printed booklets will hopefully be available from the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal or Ramsey and Port Erin bus stations by the end of next week.
