Aims are to get results back more quickly
It's hoped coronavirus tests will be processed on-Island by the middle of next month.
Health and Social Care Minister David Ashford made the announcement during yesterday afternoon's media briefing, when it was also revealed there are now 13 confirmed cases in the Isle of Man.
Currently, it's taking about 72 hours to get results back, as the samples are being sent to the UK for analysis.
Mr Ashford says plans are in place to speed up the process:
Red Arrows reduced to seven jets ahead of TT display
Police arrest biker caught doing "more than 100mph in a 50mph zone"
Pre-TT Classic: Roads to close for qualifying and racing sessions
